For the whole of Kazakhstan, this morning was a nightmare that came true. This morning, dozens of families felt the unquenchable pain of loss. A horrific plane crash near Almaty claimed the lives of more than a dozen people and has called into question the life and health of a few dozen victims. The Bishops and ordinaries of Kazakhstan addressed the victims and families of the victims with words of condolences and support:
“In recollecting the airline catastrophe that killed a dozen people on the morning of December 27, 2019 in Almaty, the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Kazakhstan expresses its deepest condolences to the families of the victims. The entire Catholic community of Kazakhstan mourns with those who lost their dear ones and close family and friends this morning, and promise their prayers for the repose of the souls of the dead, as well as for the health and healing of the people injured by this tragedy”.
